An exploration in texture.

About Me

I am an artist based in Washington, where I live with my husband and three daughters. My journey into the world of art began as a self-taught endeavor, sparked by a profound need to rediscover my identity beyond the roles of wife and mother.

Initially, I was drawn to painting as a form of personal expression and escape from the demands of daily life. The early days were marked by a fascination with watercolor, which captivated me with its fluidity and unpredictability. This initial love expanded into exploring various mediums, including gouache, acrylics, oils, water-mixable oils, and digital art.

As I immersed myself in these diverse techniques, I found that my pursuit of perfection and the influence of admired artists began to overshadow the joy I once experienced. The process became rigid, and the act of creating felt more like a chore than a passion.

Realizing that I had strayed from the essence of what made painting fulfilling for me, I returned to the roots of my artistic journey. It was through discovering abstract art that I reclaimed my sense of freedom and excitement. Abstract art allowed me to embrace color and harmony without constraints, and the unpredictability of each piece reignited my creative spirit.

My work now celebrates the beauty of spontaneity and personal expression. I believe that art is a deeply personal journey, and finding one's unique voice is essential. Whether your passion lies in hyper-realism, abstract forms, or another style, the key is to pursue what resonates with your soul.
